The Online Poker Weekend – Ondrej Vinklarek Dominates

Despite the ongoing
PCA, many “name” competitors found the time and energy to take part in the Sunday Majors over the past weekend. Some of them are probably not sorry they decided to play: Kevin Saul for instance clinched a second place cash in
PokerStars’ Sunday Warm-Up, while Adam Levy and Scott Clements made the home stretch of Full Tilt Poker’s $500k Guarantee. The most impressive weekend performance belonged to Ondrej Vinklarek though, who made no fewer than 3 final tables, taking the total on his winnings into 6-figure territory.
The Sunday Million was yet again the largest event of the weekend: it drew a starting field of 7,419 participants, who combined buy-ins to create a $1.48 million prize-pool.
The tournament saw a 4-way deal at the top, of which Casey Jarzebek was a part too. He became the first one to bust out of the players who had made the above said deal. He picked up $137.4k for his efforts. The eventual winner of the event was a player known as “nietbangzijn”, who collected $186.7k, the biggest single prize of the weekend.
Notables who finished high in the poker tournament were Leandro Csome, who ended up in 10th place for $8.1k and Liam Moffett, who finished 30th for $3k.
The Sunday Warm-Up saw 3,437 players belly up to its tables. The resulting prize-pool tipped the scales at $687.4k. The winner of the event was zen_mec, who bested none other than Kevin Saul heads-up. There weren’t any deals made in this event. The winner’s share of the loot was $107.9k. The highest finishing notable (besides Saul of course) was Jack Elwood, who finished 29th.
Ondrej Vinklarek’s first final table came in Full Tilt Poker’s $500k. He finished second there after a 3-way deal, collecting $72.6k for his efforts.
