The Online Poker Weekend – Tobias Reikenmeyer Comes Up Big

Before shifting their focus onto the upcoming 2011 WSOP, poker pros descended in great numbers to play in the various high prize-pool guaranteed tournaments over the last weekend. The biggest winner of the weekend at PokerStars was none other than Tobias Reikenmeyer, who made it all the way to the top spot of the Sunday Million, pocketing a handsome prize of $135k+. The biggest tournament winner of the weekend was BadEcstasy89 though, who won almost $154k at Full Tilt Poker, by finishing 1st in the $750k Guarantee.
The Black Friday ordeal has certainly taken a massive toll on PokerStars’ player traffic: only 4,833 players coughed up the $215 buy-in for the Sunday Million, and the event failed to cover its $1 million guarantee: something quite unheard of before the April 15 indictments. The top 9 finishers struck a deal at the table, seriously limiting the amount of money the eventual winner would be able to claim it at the end of it all. Tobias Reikenmeyer came through eventually, besting The_Anfied heads-up for the win. The second place man took down a $129k prize. None of the other players finished in 6 figures.
The other PokerStars weekend events (Like the Sunday Warm-Up) failed to give birth to a single 6-figure winner between them.

At Full Tilt Poker, 4,299 players showed up for the $750k Guarantee. The prize-pool was handily covered and exceeded, the $859,800 well enough to give the top 2 finishers 6 figure rewards. There were no deals in this event whatsoever. BadEcstasy89 bested Exan13 heads-up for the win. Exan13 took home $106,615 for his efforts. Not many notables played in this event. The only “name” player whose finish was noteworthy was Nicolas Leger, whose 21st place was worth $2,407.

The Sunday Brawl was won by IM_ICM, who struck a two way deal with push me dirty and then disposed of him/her to pocket the top reward of $47.5k.
