The Poker Grapevine – 60 Billionth Hand at PokerStars

Tuesday marked yet another milestone for the largest and most successful online poker operation in existence. Whenever there’s a major moment approaching, it is worth to play at
PokerStars, more than at any other time. For the simple reason that they are there and that they are playing, players may end up taking down rewards which far exceed their wildest dreams. Such was the case for a player known as Pogo650 yesterday. This guy was lucky enough to be playing at the $5/$10
Limit Holdem table called Isa II, where the 60 billionth hand played at PokerStars landed. All those at the table were guaranteed a minimum prize of $500. On top of that, they would get more money based on the number of VIP points they had accumulated over the last 50 hands. The winner would walk away with a $60k minimum prize.
Pogo650’s 3,Qo won on a board of 2,K,3,6,9. When the math was done, he walked away with a prize of $102,090 – not too shabby by any standards. There were 4 players at the table who got $21k and another guy who pocketed $11k.
In other news: Mike Sowers made the final table of
Full Tilt Poker’s $1k Monday in 1st place and in 9th place. How did he achieve such a feat? Simple: he took advantage of the Multi-Entry nature of the event, buying a total of 6 entries, two of which were still live when things boiled down to the final table. Since he couldn’t play against himself, he was allowed to merge the two stacks and to pick up 9th place money for his smaller stack. That move allowed him to cruise through and to grab the win, pocketing a $490k top prize. His 9th place cash considered too, he made more than $500k in the tournament.
