The Poker Grapevine – Brandon Adams Addresses FTP Issue

Ex Full Tilt Poker pro Brandon Adams has been one of the scapegoats of the whole Full Tilt ordeal due to a comment he posted to one of the major online poker forums out there, defending Full Tilt Poker in the immediate wake of Black Friday. The reason why Adams was much vilified for his comments was that he said that FTP was run by much more honorable people than
PokerStars and therefore he believed player monies were a lot safer there.
Since then, an entire thread has been dedicated to his bashing, at one of the major poker forums, and Adams decided to shoot up a post in that thread the other day, to defend himself.
In his new post he admits he was wrong in defending FTP and he takes full responsibility for what he said. He also clarifies a few matters. He makes it clear that despite his red pro status, he never had an ownership share in
Full Tilt Poker, in fact his deal wasn’t even much better than the standard FTP deal of $35 an hour plus rakeback.
Adams deflected all guilt in the matter, stating that he had never been aware of the actual financial situation of the company, and the fact that FTP proved unable to repay its players came as a shock for him too.
In other news: British poker pro James Bord generated a bit of upheaval the other day, when he said that European poker players have become superior to their US peers, and that he was willing to put his money where his mouth was in the matter.
He said that he would guarantee refund on all wagers up to $500 on Matchbook, if a US-based player won the
WSOPE Main Event.
As if only to prove Bord wrong, New York-based Elio Fox won the Main Event, talking home the €1.4 million top prize forcing Bord to reach deep into his pockets, and probably to consider more caution in all such future statements.
