The Poker Grapevine - Full Tilt Poker Announcement

After PokerStars have given around 100 million dollars back to their US customers, Full Tilt Poker, the other major online poker operator directly impacted by the Black Friday indictments, decided to make an announcement on the 1 month anniversary of the biggest disaster in US online gaming history. To that end, a thread was launched at one of the popular online poker forums, in which an announcement about a potential future announcement being made appeared. Needless to say, US players, eager to learn something about the fate of the funds they were forced to leave in the Full Tilt Poker coffers, were quite disappointed. At least though, their hopes haven’t been dashed. Those who have poker points left at the site were probably glad to learn that the Full Tilt Poker Store will open, which means that they will be able to turn their PPs into something valuable. Exactly when the store would open though, was not detailed either.

In other news: Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson are apparently no longer PPA (Poker Players’ Alliance) board members. The two of them stepped down for reasons unknown, and while we can only speculate why they made the move, one thing is certain: their names no longer grace the PPA’s BoD page.

The Pokerstars LAPT’s schedule is being shuffled around by the organizers a little. The Tour’s Punta Del Este stop will be its 4th, in place of the Rosario event which was apparently dropped. According to LAPT President David Carrion, the aim of the move is to offer players a location which is far superior to the Rosario one in every respect. Those who were planning to head over to Rosario for the 4th stop had better rethink their travel-plans.

WSOP
organizers are busy drumming up sponsor-support for the Series. The latest sponsor to jump on board is Blue Shark Optics, a sunglasses manufacturer looking to break new ground in the poker world.
