Tis apparently the season to be rake-racing all over the online poker world. Unibet too feature a rake race of their own, or make that a raked hands race rather. In a raked hands race, the number of raked hands played is what determines the winner and not the effective rake that players generate. Bear that in mind when you choose which limits to play.
Unibet are well aware that not everyone playing at their site is a poker maniac, so they’ll give everyone the possibility to win a ticket to the Unibet Open which takes place sometime in March 2009 in Budapest. Based on the success of the EPTs stop there, this event is bound to be a blast too.
Players who rack up at least 2,500 raked hands during January (from the 1st to the 31st) will get the chance to play in a final tournament (no 4.) which awards a package to the Unibet Open Budapest.
Those who play at least 5,000 raked hands, get to play in a separate final (no 3) and in the no 4 one as well.
Players with more than 7,500 raked hands under their belts get to play in three finals (2,3 and 4).
Those who top off at over 10,000 raked hands get to play in four finals, 1,2,3 and 4, thus amassing more chances to participate in the
Budapest event.
The package itself is a rather generous one. It includes the €1,500+€150 buy-in for the event, 4 nights accommodation in a luxury hotel, breakfast every day and dinner on poker-playing days. There are also €350 available for travel expenses and let’s not forget about the chance to see the most beautiful city in Eastern Europe first-hand.
One player may only win a single seat for the event. Packages are not transferable, and winners will not be able to trade them in for cash or poker chips.
