Last weekend was the weekend of the pros all over in the online poker world. Several “name” players managed to win some of the high prize-pool weekend guarantees, and several others finished deep in the money. The biggest winner of the weekend was Mark Herm, who pocketed almost $230k for his Sunday Million win at
PokerStars.
The $215 event saw no fewer than 7,661 players register, combining for a prize-pool of $1,532,000. Of that, the lion’s share ended up in Mark Herm’s possession, who defeated e1mdopp heads-up for the win. The second-place man took home $168,542. Yourmybread finished third for a 6-figure score of $114,915.
Jason DeWitt managed a deep run as well. He finished 16th, for a $4k reward.
The Sunday Warm-up created a 6-figure winner too: after a 3-way deal at the top, el-rage clinched the win, taking home $120,194 for his efforts. The other two players in the top three, upay4mytreez and diphazz almost managed to break the 6-figure mark too with wins of 92k and 97k respectively.
Over at
Full Tilt Poker, the only 6-figure winner of the weekend was –Frederickjame- who took home $132k for his win in the $750k Gtd. Full Tilt Poker’s flagship weekend guarantee managed to attract a starting field of 3,272 players. The prize-pool was a $750k one which meant that the tournament had once again failed to cover its guarantee.
There were no top-level deals in this event either. The winner walked away with the lion’s share of the prize-pool, leaving second place man HGC_1 $80k. Frank Calo finished 3rd for a $52k reward.
Notables to finish deep were Andres Pereyra and Mark Zajdner, who ended up in 16th and 23rd places respectively.
No other 6-figure winners were registered at any of the
online poker rooms.
