Lately, it seems like there’s something special in the books every weekend as far as the online poker tournament scene is concerned. Last weekend, there was a guaranteed prize-pool frenzy at
Full Tilt Poker. The biggest winner of the weekend emerged from Full Tilt Poker’s tables too: happymon32 won the $2,250,000 Guarantee, and despite the 4-way deal which probably ended up biting into his profits, he walked away with a massive haul of $353,769.
The event attracted a starting field of 14,030 players, which gave birth to a massive prize-pool of $2,806,000. Alex Scheurell, who finished 2nd in the event, was the second biggest winner of the week, walking away with a $247,513 prize, more than $10k bigger than that of the winner of PokerStars’ Sunday Million.
Mario Puccini finished in 3rd place, taking home $239,966 for his efforts. Chris Dreyer was the first of the dealmakers to be eliminated. He took home $224.020.
The tournament yielded one more 6-figure finisher: 5th place man Rasmus Sibast took home $103,822.
Notable finishes were those of Steven Levy and Chino Rheem, who ended up in 10th and 14th places respectively.
Full Tilt Poker’s Triple Guarantees Sunday was responsible for a high number of 6-figure winners overall. The Sunday Brawl attracted almost 10k players too, and gave the top 5 finishers 6-figure prizes.
Pokerstars’ Sunday million fell well short of the mark this time. “Only” 8,613 players coughed up the $215 buy-in, creating a prize pool of $1,722,600, which still beat the guarantee quite handily.
This event saw a 5-way deal at the top too, and all 5 players involved in the deal ended up with 6-figure prizes. The winner, Rens02, took home $234k. Second place man ZAGABOY won $120k. The other 6-figure winners were ShipThisPLZ who pocketed $120.3k, plaque20 ($130k) and marcosretard ($118k).
2 more six-figure winners emerged from the PokerStars Sunday Warm-up too.
