WSOP 2010 Details

The 41st edition of the WSOP kicks off on May 27th with a series of satellites to allow some of the wannabe players to earn a set in a bracelet event for a fraction of the regular buy-in cost. The first bracelet event will start on May 28th, and it will cut right to the chase in the sense that it will feature a $50,000 buy-in, the most expensive starting event in the history of the WSOP. The prizes offered by this poker tournament will be rather fabulous too. In addition to the money, the winner will walk away with the Chip Reese memorial trophy, and the bragging rights. The winner of this event will have to prove his/her worth in the 8-game format made popular by Chip Reese and other high stakes professionals. Over the course of 4 days, Limit Holdem, Omaha Hi-Lo, Stud, Stud Hi-Lo, Razz , NL Holdem, PL Omaha and 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball shall be played. The final table of the event shall feature NL Holdem.

The second bracelet event of the series will be the $1,000 NL Holdem event which kicks off on May 29th. Due to the relatively low buy-in and to the popularity of the game format it features, this event will probably attract a record number of participants again. Last year, no fewer than 6,012 players bellied up to the tables of this poker tournament, setting a new record.
Such $1,000 NL Holdem events will take place on each and every one of the first 5 weekends of the Series, so there will be plenty of opportunities for low buy-in NL Holdem action.
