WSOP 2010 Schedule
The largest live poker event in the world is set to kick off on May 27th, 2010, with its 41st edition featuring a comprehensive selection of the world’s most popular poker games in tournament format. The Series will last till July 17th, when the last hand of the pre-final table action of the Big Dance will be played. The November Nine will return this year too, thus the conclusion of the Main Event’s final table will be pushed out to build suspense and to raise even more interest yet again.
As you probably all know, last year, there have been some issues regarding the starting field capacity of the venue which hosted the WSOP Main Event. Even so, overall, attendance records were pretty much shattered, even though the prize-pool record for the Main Event wasn’t.
This year, the organizers plan to prevent a similar incident, so this time around, the Pavilion Ballroom will play host for the Main Event, expanding on last year’s capacity by around 20%, which is rather significant.
A total of 57 events will offer golden bracelets to their respective winners (which equals last year’s offer). On May 27th, there will only be satellites running for those looking for a cheaper way to earn a seat in a bracelet event. The first bracelet event will kick off on May 28th and it will be the $50,000 Player Championship. This event will set a record for the most expensive poker tournament even to be used as an opener for the WSOP.
The 4th of July will be an off-day, hosting some more satellites as alternative qualifiers.
