European Poker Tour – Snowfest

The EPT’s Snowfest stop was only introduced last year, but the Austrian Alps must’ve had a truly special effect on the players as it proved to be a huge success virtually securing its presence on the Season 7 schedule from the get go. This year, the event will take place in March, from the 20th to the 25th to be exact and even though it is capped at 500 players, it is still expected to attract more competitors than last year.
Last year, the ski slopes of Saalback Hinterglemm, one of Austria’s most popular ski resorts, offered plenty of opportunities for players to go snowboarding, skiing and snowball fighting. Danish poker pro Allan Baekke was the one who walked away with the title last year, after he bested online qualifier Russell Carson.
Carson had earned his EPT Snowfest seat through PokerStars and frankly, there are no reasons why you shouldn’t attempt to follow suit this year.

PokerStars still offers plenty of qualifying opportunities for its players, the cheapest of them only costing €5.45 or 100 FPPs. Of course, to give yourself a better chance, you can also buy into a higher tier but more expensive online qualifier.
All you need to do to qualify online is to download PokerStars’ software, and to access the EPT section under the Events tab. You will find all the EPT related qualifiers there, including the Snowfest ones.

The direct buy-in to the Snowfest Main Event costs a whooping €3,500+€250, so winning your seat online makes a lot of sense indeed, all the more so in light of the fact that the Snowfest packages offered by PokerStars include much more than just the seats: you’ll have your travel and accommodation covered as well, not to mention the spending money, which is always welcome in a location like Saalback Hinterglemm.
