Some of the biggest prize pools ever offered by Bodog Poker will be handed out by the Bodog Poker Open II. The Bodog Poker Open (also known as BPO) had its inaugural edition in March 2008. The BPO II will probably be much bigger and feature much more generous prize-pools than the BPO I and it will probably attract more players as well.

Last year, it was player ‘phatcat’ who took down the big prize in the flagship event, a sum totaling $76,280, for a buy-in of only $470 +$30. While that may have been extremely steep for most of the online players out there, Bodog had made it possible for those skilled enough to qualify via a satellite for a fraction of the cost. The prize-pool of the main event totaled $305,120 and it was eventually distributed among the top 54 finishers.

There were 596 participants in the main event, a number which will probably be much bigger this year, and which will implicitly notch up the prize-pool as well. Last year, Bodog had contributed $25,000 to the BPO Main event’s prize-pool.
The first place finisher took home the above mentioned $76K, second place walked away with $45,000, and third place took down $29,000.

The BPO II will feature similar buy-ins and bigger prize-pools. In order to secure your seat at the BPO II main event, buy in directly by downloading and installing Bodog’s software, going to the ‘Scheduled Tournaments’ tab and clicking on the BPO button. Look for one of the satellites or sub satellites if you think the direct buy-in is something you cannot afford. Make sure you’re present at the BPO main event and that you take down your well deserved share of prize-money.
