Like every respectable online poker room, Party Poker features its own World Series of Poker qualifiers and satellites. I suppose it’s needless to tell you that the WSOP Main Event presents some of the most generous prize-pools ever, regardless of whether we’re considering online or offline events. The 2008 WSOP is going to be much more generous than any previous edition was, and that’s because there will be more participants than ever before. That doesn’t only mean a much bigger field of competitors you’ll have to plow through to get to the money, but also that the prize pool will be bigger too. Party Poker has started offering WSOP packages as early as January 2008. The value of a package is $11,000, and that includes the buy-in for the Main Event plus $1,000 spending money. “Smaller” privileges like accommodation in a five-star LasVegas hotel, transportation from the hotel to the event, and access to Party Poker’s exclusive VIP suite are also included. The direct buy-ins for the online Party Poker tournaments that reward players with such packages are quite expensive (still an excellent bargain though, compared to a direct WSOP Main Event buy-in), but their satellite system makes sure you can gain access to them for as little as $1. Their $1 WSOP Satellite Sub Qualifiers run daily. For every $64 in the prize pool, a player gains access to a daily $64 qualifier. The $3 daily sub qualifiers also offer seats in the $64 daily, one for every $64 in the prize pool. Obviously though, these sub qualifiers will send more players to the $64 than the $1 ones. The $64 daily satellite offers one seat for every 10 entrants in the weekly $550+$30 satellite that sends players directly to the WSOP, one for every 20 entrants.
