Fast-folding poker variants like PartyPoker’s FastForward poker do not lend themselves to mobile play particularly well. Because of the very nature of the game, touch-based controls aren’t particularly well-suited for truly fast games, and they often end up defeating the very purpose of fast-folding poker. The problem with the fastforward: special edition app is that it’s currently only available in a handful of countries: only players from Austria, Ireland, Sweden, the UK and Canada can currently use the downloadable app. The app can be picked up in the App Store for iOS or in the Google PlayStore for Android. The good news for players from other countries is however that fastforward games will work with similar controls directly from their phone’s browser too, so they don’t actually have to download anything, all they have to do is to access the special page set up by PartyPoker for this purpose. The fastforward: special edition app is not currently available for tablets, but PartyPoker’s developers are already working on expanding support. The game does work on tablets too though, through the browser.
The app only supports fastforward cash games for now, so those interested in playing in PartyPoker’s tournaments won’t be able to use it for that. As far as cash game action goes though, it positively delivers the best and most complete mobile experience out there, not to mention the fastest game action.
