The Pokerfest is indeed back and in full swing at PartyPoker these days, handing out more than $2 million in guaranteed prizes, and aiming to keep players busy at its tables until November 4. The Pokerfest consists of no fewer than 76 different events, and it has already started (last Sunday in fact).
With some of the Pokerfest events in the book already, it is now obvious that we’re talking about serious money and serious action indeed.
One of the early winners of the Series is British player Rick Trigg, who managed to take down the $250k
NL Holdem freezout event over the weekend, for a reward of $35k+.
The tournament drew a starting field of 1,295 players, and it took Trigg some 10 and a half hours to finally emerge the winner, after a heads-up deal no less, which limited the amount of money he got to take down.
Omfg72oAgain was the runner up: he collected $32k for his efforts, not a bad haul at all given the size of the total prize-pool.

No fewer than 4 more players managed to finish in 5 figures in the event. While the Sunday opening events of the Pokerfest featured somewhat elevated buy-ins, the Series is truly a one-stop shop for tournament players of all financial means. The buy-in range covers everything from $1 to $500.
The highlight of the Pokerfest is obviously its Main Event. Offering a $300k Guarantee, the NL Holdem event has a bunch of satellites and sub-satellites running for it around the clock. While the direct buy-in to it is $200 (still not particularly daunting), skilled players can earn their seats for a lot less in one if the above said satellites.
$1, $2 and $5 buy-in Pokerfest events abound however. Event #19 for instance, a $1 NLH Turbo Rebuy tournament, features a $5k guarantee. Event #25 offers a potentially even bigger value: for a $2 buy-in, players will get to battle it out for a $12.5k guaranteed prize-pool.
Besides the Main Event, there are other tournaments offering 6-figure prize-pools. Event #36, another NLH Freeze-out affair, costs $200 to enter and it offers a $250k prize-pool.
The bottom line is that the Pokerfest is something no one should miss out on. The possibilities are endless and the events are extremely accessible.
