EPT Warsaw – back to Poland

Warsaw, the Polish Capital, will be the scene of an EPT stop for the second year in a row. Last year, during Season 5, a total of 217 players bellied up to the EPT tables, looking for a share of the over €1 million prize-pool. The eventual winner, Portugal’s Joao Barbosa, ended up with a €367,141 prize, having bested one of the most competitive final tables of the Season. Dario Minieri and Arnaud Mattern were among those to beat at the final table, as well as Atanas Gueorguyev, Michael Muheim and Sergey Shcherbatskiy who all won their seats online at PokerStars.
Shcherbatskiy eventually ended up in 6th place, taking down a huge prize compared to his $7.50 buy-in which landed him the EPT seat, through PokerStars’ Steps Qualifiers.

Barbosa’s Warsaw performance was by no means a work of chance though. He proved that he did indeed deserve the hefty prize-money, by finishing in a money position in a further 3 EPT Events.
This year’s event will take place in the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Qualifiers are required to be registered for the event and to carry a valid ID based on which their age can be established. The legal minimum age is 18, and participants are required to wear appropriate clothing.

The event, which features a buy-in of PLN 23,500+ PLN 1,500, takes place between October 20th and the 25th, together with the bunch of usual side events that accompany it. Qualifying will be available on the scene, and you’ll be able to buy in directly as well, but you should obviously try to qualify online at PokerStars as that will save you a lot of money.
Look for the special EPT qualifiers in the PokerStars lobby and waste no time securing your seat for a few bucks or a few FPPs.
