European Poker Tour – London

If you’re saving yourself for a true large scale, high-buyin European poker festival, the EPT’s London Stop , taking place between September 29th and October 4th, may be the break you’re looking for. The London stop will be the EPT’s first genuine Season 7 poker festival, featuring a flurry of various events and a Main Event set to surpass everything the EPT has managed to produce thus far. The Main Event will feature a massive buy-in of GBP 5,000+ GBP 250, which doesn’t just mean that seats will be extremely expensive, it also means that the prize-pool will likely be a whooper too.

How to Qualify for the EPT’s London Main Event?

Qualifying is also possible online through PokerStars of course, and earning a seat in one of these satellites (which are already running btw) is indeed a real bargain. All you need to do is to download the software and to access Events->EPT. Qualifiers start from 100 FPPs or €5.45. The winners’ packages include the buy-in to the Main Event, accommodation, and €600 players can spend as they see fit. Last year, no fewer than 149 players earned their seats online. The winner of the Main Event, Aaron Gustavson, was an online qualifier as well.

Gustavson bested none other than reigning WSOP Main Event Champion Peter Eastgate heads-up, to take down the GBP 850,000 top prize.

The Hilton Metropole will be the scene of the Main event, of most side events and SNGs, but the Grosvenor Victoria Casino will pitch in as well, by hosting the European Championships and all the cash games of the festival.
Players can buy into most of the events (well, to pretty much all of them with the exception of the super satellite) directly from PokerStars’ site. The online registration period opens on September 15th and it lasts right up to a few hours before the action kicks off.

Besides the Main Event, there will be plenty of other opportunities to earn big money. The GBP 20,000 high rollers event will definitely present a great opportunity to that end. The GBP 2,000 8-Game European Championship will have a massive prize-pool as well.
