EPT Barcelona - upping the stakes

The European Poker Tour’s Barcelona stop ups the stakes both in regards to the maximum number of players admitted (the cap here is set to 700), and in regards to the prize-pool. Because the buy-in is a EUR 8,000+EUR 300 one, the eventual prize-pool is likely to become much bigger than that of the Kyiv event.
The EPT’s Barcelona stop doesn’t need any sort of a special introduction. It has been around the block a few times already and it has always been successful. From one year to another more and more players register for its Main Event, and more and more name pros show up to take a shot at the ever increasing prize-pool. This season, with the player cap set to 700 it’s bound to produce a huge bang in the poker world again.
Last year, 619 players made the trip to Barcelona, and the winner, Sebastian Ruthenberg, who beat a final table which included Jason Mercier and Davidi Kitai, took home a prize of EUR 1,361,000. Greg Raymer, Luca Pagano, Bertrand Grospellier and Isabelle Mercier also played.

Qualifying will be possible live at the Casino Barcelona for as little as EUR 200+EUR20 but it’s always wiser to secure your seat online, via the qualifiers offered by PokerStars. Online qualification is possible from as little as $2.22+111 FPPs. The Steps SNGs offer players multiple options when it comes to qualifying. Through the Steps promotion, players can earn their EPT Barcelona package (which is much more generous than a plain buy-in) for as little as $7.5 or 500 FPPs.

To find the various EPT satellites currently running, just open up the PokerStars lobby, hit the Events tab and then hit EPT.
