World Series Of Poker Pre-registration now open!
This week saw Harrah's Entertainment announce that the 2009 World Series of Poker pre-registration period had begun, and they are encouraging early-birds. Pre-registration can be done via the World Series of Poker website or in person at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas. Payment for entry to any of the 57 bracelet events can be made by use of cash, check, wire transfer or Rio Casino Chips. The biggest buy-in will be the 3 day $50,000 World Championship H.O.R.S.E. event which will get started on Friday June 26th, and the second biggest is the $40,000 40th annual no-limit hold'em event which celebrates 40 years of the World Series of Poker, and will begin on May 28th.
On arrival at the event, all who pre-register will be asked for some form of identity; passport, state identification card, driver's license or military identification card, and only at this point will the player receive their table and seat positions. Pre-registration is open from now until 2 weeks before each event gets underway. All registration will run on a first come first served basis, hence Tournament Director, Jack Effel urges players to "pre-register early to guarantee their seats". Whilst the Rio facilities are large, all tournaments have a cap and once that cap is reached the event will be declared a "sell out", and no further registration will be possible; hence, it's worth getting your skates on, checking out the schedule, and making those crucial decisions as to where you're going to be and when.
