WSOP 2009 Winners and Champions

Winning a WSOP event means a lot more than money these days. Certainly, the winner’s share of the prize-pool is always the lion’s share and it is a significant sum. Even the smallest first prize is enough to change the life of the winner forever, provided he doesn’t go out and blow it all on something useless.
Together with the prize money comes something of much more value, something respected and cherished by all those who play poker or are simply interested in the goings-on of the online and live poker world. Every event winner gets a gold bracelet which shows that he/she is a world champion. No amount of money can ever come close to the prestige represented by this coveted piece of jewelry, of which several have found their owners this year too.

The very first 2009 WSOP bracelet went to the winner of the Casino Employees NL Holdem event, which featured a $500 buy-in. Andrew Cohen took this bracelet, together with the $83,883 prize.
