EPT Polish Open Warsaw – General Review, Ways to Earn a Seat

After the success of the London and Budapest EPT events, the poker world is looking forward to the Polish Open, which will take place in Warsaw between November 15th and 19th, at the Casinos Poland Hyatt Regency.
After both the British and the Hungarian stops exceeded their respective player caps, people are expecting more of the same in Poland.
To put things into perspective a bit, let’s take a look at last year’s event when 359 players registered, including some of the biggest names in live poker like Greg Raymer, Dario Minieri and Katja Thater. As you probably know, the EPT’s main sponsor is PokerStars.com. Last season, the field of 359 included 103 players who won their Polish Open seat online through PokerStars. Out of these players, 4 managed to make it to the final table.

Last season’s Polish EPT stop was won by Michael Schulze, and amateur player who fended off some furious attacks from Portuguese professional Ricardo Souse, on his way to a €610,000 payday.
The buy-in to the Polish event is PLN 20,000+1,000 and it is capped at 400 players. Last season, the cap was not exceeded, this season however, organizers are hoping for a spike in participant numbers.

If you decide to participate in the Polish Open, you should know that there are several ways to win a seat. By playing in one of Pokerstars’ satellites or sub satellites, you’ll be able to secure your EPT Poland package for as little as $2.22 or 111 FPPs.
The packages offered by PokerStars include the buy-in as well as accommodation in Warsaw and $1,000 spending money.
During the tournament, the Casinos Poland Hyatt Regency will be open from 2 PM till 6 AM. You can dress casually for the event, but make sure you don’t show up in ripped jeans or anything inappropriate for a social event.

Under Polish Gambling law, you’ll be required to show a passport or a valid photo ID. You will not be allowed to wear your sunglasses and/or baseball caps outside of the tournament area.
