EPT London

The EPT London stop is said to be the first true “poker festival” of the Tour’s 8th season. The Hilton Metropole Hotel will be the scene of the action, which will take place between September 30 and October 8. While the Hilton Metropole is indeed the main venue, where all the SNG’s, the EPT side events and the Main Event take place, the Grosvenor Victoria Casino will play host to all the cash games and the European Championships.
The EPT London gives players so many opportunities to play and to pocket EPT cash, it’s quite ridiculous. Last year, 848 players coughed up the rather expensive buy-in for the Main Event, setting the record for the biggest ever live poker event held in the UK. The first place prize was an impressive £900k. This year, organizers expect even more players to show up. The High Rollers’ event, which cost £20k to enter, saw 77 players cough up the out-of-this-world buy-in. Nacho Barbero emerged with the win in this one, pocketing a top prize of £556k.

The EPT London plays host to countless side events and live qualifiers. Those who cannot secure their seats online at PokerStars, will find it handy to attempt to qualify for the Main Event at the scene. The Main Event isn’t a cheap affair either: it costs £5k + £250 to enter. Capped at 1,000 players, it is practically guaranteed to generate a prize-pool that will exceed the wildest expectations of most people.

Qualifying is possible online at PokerStars, through the various direct-access satellites and the sub-satellites which cost much less to register for. At the end of the day, a Main Event seat can be picked up for a handful of FPPs.
Players can buy in directly through their PokerStars accounts too. Those who do, will be considered Pokerstars-sponsored players. Players can buy in to all EPT London events through PokerStars, with the exception of the Main Event super satellite.
