Forget cricket, forget football, poker is emerging as a new national sport in Britain, and Full Tilt Poker are offering seats to the band new English Poker Open.
Open to EU residents, Full Tilt Poker are now running tournaments with a star prize – a $6,500 package to the English Poker Open 2009. The English Poker Open 2009 will be taking place in Nottingham between September 15th and 17th when players will compete for a part of a $1 million prize pool.
The English Poker Open is a new event on the calendar and will be hosted at the wonderful Dawn to Dusk casino in Nottingham where the tournament will get underway at 2 pm on Tuesday September 15th. There will be total of three events making up the Open. Event number 1 will be the $5,000 + $300 Main Event that will run over the course of the series, event number 2 is a £500 + £60 No Limit freezeout that starts on Wednesday September 17th, and event number 3 is a one day £250 + £30 No Limit Freezeout 6000 starting stack event on Thursday 17th September.
That's the series, now what about the packages? Full Tilt Poker is making available right now packages worth $6,500 that include the buy-in to the main event and money towards spending or expenses. In order to win one of these packages you must play in an English Poker Open Qualifier which will be running at 13:00 ET every Sunday from now until September 6th. This qualifier can be bought into directly for $200 + $16, or alternatively find your way there through satellites of which there is one running virtually every hour.
