The Onyx Cup is unlike any other land based poker tournament on the horizon. Full Tilt Poker is offering the members of its online poker site the opportunity to play for a package to the Onyx Cup Series; those who are successful will have their lives changed forever.
The Onyx Cup Series is made up of 6 events, all high stakes, and will take place all across the globe. The total prize pool for the series is estimated to be $30 million. The buy-ins for these events will be starting at $100k, and from the various events players will earn points for the Onyx Cup Series Leaderboard. How players do in the leaderboard will determine if they qualify for the Grand Finale to be held in December in Vegas with a buy-in of $250k! Not only are the prizes huge for this series, but the potential for fame is also enormous. The Onyx Cup Series is to be filmed and aired on 40 networks around the globe.
Full Tilt Poker are now running qualifiers for the first event of the Onyx Cup Series which is to be held in May in Las Vegas. The next real money qualifier running for the Onyx Cup Series will be on May 1st at 18:30 ET with a buy-in of $2,000 + $100; from this qualifier two prize packages will be awarded. You can also play for one of these highly sought after packages through completely free poker play. There are three rounds of freeroll tournaments culminating with the Final Freeroll to be held on May 1st. from which 1 prize package will be awarded.
