Bored of the same old tournaments, the same old opponents, the same old games? Full Tilt Poker empathises and is providing a fantastic alternative to the norm – the Matrix Tournaments.
The Matrix Tournaments at Full Tilt Poker are truly like nothing you’ll have ever seen before; the online poker site has taken regular poker play and made it extreme. Once you discover the Matrix Tournaments there’ll be no coming back – so be warned; the world is not as it seems!
Imagine a regular 9 seater sit n’ go tournament; but now multiply it by 4 – this is essentially a Matrix Tournament. When you sit down at a Full Tilt Poker Matrix Tournament table you’ll find yourself facing 8 opponents, but you will be facing the same 8 opponents on 4 different tables, each of which you’ll be playing at the same time. Each of these four tournament tables will have its own sit & go prize pool, and in addition to the prize pool your performance will be assessed and you may as such receive a payout from the Matrix Tournament prize pool too.
In every other way these tournaments run like any other sit & go at the online poker site – they are not free poker tournaments, they play down to the final player, and the final three players will receive a pay out. The payouts at the Matrix Tournament tables work as follows. The buy-ins will be divided equally between each of the four tables and the Matrix prize pool. The top 3 players from each table will get a payout and the top three players in terms of overall performance will get a payout too. So for example in a $10 + $1 buy-in table, each of the first places will get a payout of $9, second place will get $5.40, and the third place finishers will get $3.60. In order to do well in the Matrix prize pool you must earn Matrix Points. Every time that one of your opponents is knocked out of the game you’ll earn one point; if you knock a player out you’ll get two points.
Those of you who are itching to rise to the challenge should consider being the dominatrix. The Dominatrix is the player who manages to win each of the tables, and thus will of course also win the Matrix prize pool. In order to find the Matrix tournaments, members of the Full Tilt Poker online poker community should go to the Sit & Go tab, and look for the All or Matrix tab in the lobby; tournaments with an M next to them are Matrix Tournaments.
