Playing in freerolls is always great, regardless of the poker site one plays at, but Full Tilt Poker have apparently decided to simply go overboard with this proposition: over a two-week period, they have set out to give away $140k in free money, through a promotion called Freeroll Mayhem. Players who intend to take part (and who wouldn't want to, really), are required to opt in manually. In order to play in the freerolls, one will have to earn the right, but qualifying is easy and it starts as soon as one opts in. How exactly does the Freeroll Mayhem work though? Let's take a closer look.
There are several Mayhem tiers, taking place at different times and offering prizes out of prize-pools of different size.
The $5k Freeroll Flip represents the first leg of the promotion: it kicks off on May 4 and it wraps up on May 17. Every single day, at 19:00 ET, $5k freerolls kick off. Because these are Flip Poker tournaments they hand out their prizes randomly, which means players don't even have to be present at the tables to participate.

In order to gain entry to the freerolls, players are required to generate at least a fraction of a Full Tilt point through real money action the day before the actual tournament.
The $10k tier of the Freeroll Mayhem kicks off on May 10 and it wraps up on May 17. This stage comes with $10k freerolls, which feature a normal structure, and in which players are actually required to play. Qualification into these events hinges on the $5k freeroll detailed above though: only those who qualify to at least two $5k Flip freerolls are allowed to play in a $10k event. Those who fulfill the qualification conditions get tournament tickets which they then have to actually use to register.
The $25k portion of the promotion kicks off on May 10th and it wraps up on May 17 too. This is the cream of the crop of the promotion. It's made up of NL Holdem events, which feature the most demanding qualifying requirements. Players have to make a deposit of at least $10 during the promotional period in order to gain a ticket for these. Those who deposit more, will start the tournament with larger starting-stacks.
