There’s nothing more daunting than a faceless opponent, and PokerStars has the most mysterious of them all, Isildur1 - to be the guy to beat him would earn you instant fame

The poker forums have been buzzing with theories as to the identity of Isildur1 for quite some time; and the poker forums haven’t reached a single solid conclusion. PokerStars is inviting the members of its online poker community to take up the challenge of a lifetime and face this mystery of an online poker giant in their SuperStar Showdown.

The SuperStar Showdown is an attraction in and of itself. This is not just high stakes, but this is heads up play consisting of 2,500 hands in one session. The match will cross tables of N/L Hold’em as well as Pot Limit Omaha with none of the stakes dipping bellow $50/$100. Who’s the winner? Well that’s easy; either the guy with the profit after the 2,500 hands are played, or the guy who knocked the other guy out.

Anyone can take up this challenge; anyone with the bankroll that is. If you can see yourself as the most daring, and soon to be most famous member of the online poker community, simply write to PokerStars to issue the challenge. What if you don’t have the bankroll however; it’s unlike PokerStars not to give everyone a chance, and that’s true for the SuperStar Showdown too. Everyone is invited to challenge Isildur1 through Superstars Showdown qualifiers. These qualifiers run at a tenth of the price of the regular buy-in. Qualifiers are running daily for $10 + $1 or weekly with poker freeroll entry.

The upcoming SuperStar Showdown featuring Isildur1 will be held at 6 pm ET on December 19th, with more to follow in the New Year.  The online challenger, whoever it may be will keep what remains of their bankroll once the 2,500 hands are up; they start with $15,000.
