The PokerStars Passport promotion is the biggest tournament leader board promotion in existence in the online poker industry. The prizes offered by this promotion total $200,000 and they include live tournament packages as well as cash.
Players who finish high on the December TLBs will get the chance to play for PokerStars Passports. These passports contain a varying number of stamps, each stamp a ticket into a
PokerStars sponsored event for the lucky winner.
This way, players will be able to travel to
EPT, LAPT and APPT events, a selection which pretty much covers the whole globe. Fancy taking part in a high prize-pool event in London, Sydney, Budapest or Rio? How about going to all four locations and then making it to the WSOP’s Main Event too? Depending on how many stamps you’re able to garner, your PokerStars Passport will make this possible.
Here’s how it works: those who finish in the top 100 of PokerStars’ December leader boards will get an invitation to a MTT taking place on January 18th. This tournament will reward the first place finisher with a 6-stamp PokerStars passport (meaning that he will gain entry to 6 PokerStars sponsored events of his choice), with the second place finisher walking away with a 3-stamp passport and the third place finisher with a 1-stamp passport. Those who finish in the top 10, will win cash prizes from $4,000 (for 4th place) to $1,000 (for 9th). Players who finish between 100th and 200th places, 200th and 500th and 500th-1,000th respectively, will be grouped as said and each group will go on to play in a separate tournament.
Each of these tournaments will feature a 1-stamp PokerStars Passport as 1st prize, and cash rewards right down to 18th place.
The higher up you finish in the main tourney, the fewer opponents you’ll have to deal with in the group tournaments for the same prize-pool.
