Frank Sinatra sang about it, Carry Bradshaw wrote about it, and you could be visiting it; New York New York is calling, the Empire State Hold’em Championship is starting, and you could be qualifying with PokerStars. The Empire State Hold’em Championship is a veritable festival of poker to be held in New York State from August 8th lasting 2 weeks; the Main Event has already caught the eye of many poker players. The Turning Stone Casino Resort Hotel in Verona, New York State is going to play host to this 24 event showcase of poker and provide participants with the very best of all things good from restaurants to bars, from the golf course to the casino.
The Main Event is going to run from August 14th to 18th and has a direct buy-in of $2,500. Of course however, members of the PokerStars online poker community could be getting there for a whole lot less. Frequenters of the poker forums may already be aware that satellites are now running at the online poker site PokerStars for the Empire State Hold’em Championship, the winners of which will receive a package that will cover not only the Main Event buy-in but also six nights’ hotel accommodation plus some money towards expenses. The satellites for the event are running every day at PokerStars under the title ESHC Turning Stone Sat. You’ll find satellite tournaments with buy-ins beginning at $11 and ranging up to $215 qualifiers. Each day there are several of these tournaments running so every opportunity exists for members of the PokerStars online poker community to represent at the event.
