The PCA (PokerStars Caribbean Adventure) has long been a formidable opponent for the
WSOP, size- and prize-pool-wise, but 2016 will apparently be the year when it will overtake it for good: PokerStars - the main sponsor - are set on making the 2016 edition of the Series the biggest live poker event of the year, and they're not shy to make their goals known. To make that goal a reality, PokerStars are looking to send as many online qualifiers to the PCA Main Event as possible, and their satellites are indeed already running.
The packages awarded by these satellites are quite superb as well: They cover everything a player could ask for, including - of course - the buy-in to the main event, which is a massive $5.3k. The total value of the package is almost twice as much though. On top of the above-said buy-in, it also covers 9 nights' accommodation, as well as a little over $1k for travel expenses. Last but not least, package-winners will have some $1k credited to their hotel room which they can spend on food and beverages.

How can one actually qualify for such a package though? The PCA Puzzle is one way to do it. Those who collect all the puzzle-pieces, will take part in a PCA All-in Shootout tournament on November 9. This tournament awards one PCA package as well as cash prizes out of a pool of $6k. Those who want to try to get their hands on a package this way, can start by logging into the PokerStars client and opening the challenges window where the puzzle is featured.
Starting November 2-8, there are daily freerolls running, which feature $500 in cash prizes, thus making great bankroll-builders. In addition to that, those who finish in the top 15 get to play in the November 9 PCA Final Freeroll, which features a guaranteed package, in addition to some $1k in added prize-money.
The PCA VIP Bash offers another PCA path for PokerStars players. This one features 5 guaranteed PCA packages, and players can register for 25k FPPs. Satellites for the Bash are running too, for as little as 50 FPPs.
